Whether you are deciding on the flooring of your new home or replacing existing flooring, there are many options available to you. More often than not, the price of the flooring becomes the deciding factor. Keep in mind that Wide Plank Flooring is actually an investment. Hardwood flooring requires minimal upkeep and will last a lifetime. It will also increase the property value of your home should you ever decide to put it on the market.
Wide plank flooring is exactly what it sounds like. Instead of the standard 3 to 4 inch planks that make up a traditional hardwood floor, a wide plank floor can be built of planks up to a foot wide and lengths of up to sixteen feet. Our flooring is milled from recycled wood (old barn wood) which means you are not only investing in a beautiful and unique floor, but in a green building material that is beneficial to the environment as well.
The fact that our flooring is made from lumber used hundreds of years ago means that its appearance will generally have more character than that of new growth floor planking. It will contain knots, grains, worm and insect holes, and because the material was most likely reclaimed from an old barn the flooring will also sport nail holes and other defects. All of these features add a character to wide plank floors that simply isn't possible to achieve in new wood floors. If you are looking for a distinctive, head-turning wood floor, wide plank floors are the absolute best option for you.
